A little piece of Japan, thoughtfully chosen

KamiKobo is a Sydney-based family business bringing thoughtfully curated Japanese stationery and cute finds to Australia.

Our story began during a family trip through Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. We returned home with more than stationery—there were stories, little treasures and a lasting appreciation for the care, creativity and thoughtful details found in Japanese design.

One of our most treasured memories came from visiting Gotokuji Temple in Tokyo, known for its rows of maneki-neko lucky cats. There were four of us, and each family member chose one to bring home: one large, one medium and two mini.

One of those lucky cats later inspired the little origami cat at the heart of the KamiKobo logo—a symbol of paper, creativity and a special family memory.

At KamiKobo, we look for stationery that brings together beauty, quality and everyday usefulness. Our collection includes Japanese pens, notebooks, journals, stickers, washi tape, stamps and clever stationery tools, alongside playful little finds that simply make us smile.

Every item is selected thoughtfully rather than added simply to fill a shelf. Some pieces are practical, some are beautifully designed, and others add a small moment of joy to an ordinary day. Many manage to do all three.

We hope KamiKobo feels a little like discovering a stationery shop tucked away on a quiet street in Japan—filled with thoughtful design, charming details and something unexpected waiting to be found.
